If ya didn't know, now you do.

If ya didn't know, that I was a college student, now you do. When I was home over the summer, I worked at the same scrapbooking store I worked at through high school. Therefore I aquired a lot of suppplies to add to my collection, and always searched through the clearance, in hopes of finding something worth that yellow price mark, screaming, CLEARANCE, BUY ME OR I'LL BE GONE FOREVER! Its not like I would know what I have. My mom says I have enough supplies to last me the next 10 years. Obviously she never got bit with addiction of buying supplies for scrapbooking is truly a hobby in itself! I don't know about you, but I LOVE buying supplies, at a deal, then organzing it with my existing supplies. Oh I love doing that, and sorting my ribbions and buttons and embellishments. I love organzing that type of stuff!

Okay I just realized I rambled a ton that has nothing to do with the point I was trying to get at. The point I was getting at is that over the summer, I had a scrapbooking corner in my room, all nice and organzied with a little table, and place for my laptop to watch movies while I scrapbook. Well I spent just about every freetime I had there at that table scrapbooking! But my mom decided for no reason, to move it all to the basement, and now its trapped in the corner with other random boxes. If I move it, I want it in my room. I hate the idea of being isolated in the basement, I like being around people and what not. I'm debating weather or not I'm going to haul everything back up to my room...or just let this winter break pass me by without scrapbooking. Now I can't bear the thought of that. So I guess I'm just pondering when I'm actually going to do that!

Well my family has Christmas early, and we are having ours tommarow morning, so I'm really excited! You're never to old for the excitement of Christmas. But I'm off to go browse at everything I could want in my scrapbooking collection! aka... I'm off to work!

P.S. I finally finished my scarf last night, with fringe. It's a basic grey/blackish scarf that will go with anything and keep me warm! I will get pictures of it up soon! I plan on picking up another roll of yarn today to start a new one! It only took ONE skien of yarn, yay!

My Challenges For You

I have two separate challenges, which you will see in the two pages I will post below.
The First Challenge
1. Create a layout that works, and then use it more than once for different pages but keeping the same layout. If it works, use it!
The Second Challenge
2. For product usage, Use 3 different types of paper; 2 plain and one patterned, paint, and embellishments. Try using all of that on a scrapbook page.

Both challenges that I have presented are shown below. These are some of my FAVORITE pages I have ever done because they were so fun and personal! Some personal information has been blocked out for reasons...and the picture, well, it was in college days being GOOFY from studying so much during finals! OF course it gets caught on camera :)

If you do these challenges, please share with me!! Also if anyone out there is in the scrapbooking world, let me know, I love reading up on fellow scrapbooker's blogs!!

Father's Day Album

This is the cover page, of the album I made my dad for Father's Day 2006. I have never been so proud of an album. I added the texture to the chipboard with some painting sand, then painted it black. I love experimenting with paint in my scrapbooking. I picked out colors that would be suitable for a grown man, which included a palatte of tan, black and light blue. It was a fun and experiement working with a different type of color scheme than I am used to.

First page of the scrapbook..."Anyone can be a father but it takes comeone special to be a dad"

This is my favorite page out of the book, because my father has done exactly, and my parents have shown us a healthy marriage and realtionship, and I thank them for that and their hard work at their marriage and love for eachother.

Since the pages of the book were really thick, I used left over paper to make tabs, to make it easier to turn pages.

This quote really ment something ever since I have gone away to college, I have learned to really apricate my dad, thus making me miss him too!

I hope you enjoyed looking at this, perhaps you got inspired!! I am going to continue to try to put up the mini-ablums I do. My mini albums are based on one theme or event or idea. So usually I keep the patterns, and paper color scheme alike through out the book.

On Time && Late

The reason for this blog...the scrapbooking world. I love reading about other women who share the same passion I do, which is defined by one word, scrapbooking. What is the phenomon behind scrapbooking anyways? I have to say for me, I love shopping for the cute and eye-pleasing paper designed, the cute embellshiments, and the wonderments of all the different fonts and stickers out there. Putting them together to make something beautiful and that can be shared excites me. I love making scrapbooks for people and watching them look through it for the first time. To see the smile on their faces is worth more than any present I could ever give them. Scrapbooking is a strong passion of mine. Tempt me to buy products! For an extra income as a college student, I work at a craft store and see all the new and latest products for scrapbooking come through. Let's just say that my bank does not see much of that paycheck :). If any of you can recommend other avid scrapbookers who like to post thier scrapbooks and life, please share!

I will try to post pictures of my scrapbooks and what inspires me!

Blessings,
-L
